The sun is shining brightly in Gorham......everything is brilliant green.....and the puddles are drying....although the vernal pool next to my house partially filled with all the rain we've been getting.

I just watched a hen turkey cross the street into my yard...and she is busy foraging down along the edge of the yard near the pool.....probably a lot of my grass seed washed down there and looks like lunch to her. I haven"t seen any turkey hens with chicks yet.....I wonder when that will happen.

Default Back in Old Town

We got home earlier than planned. We cut our fact-finding tour short, when it quickly became apparent that living in Pensacola is most definitely not for us. Today we put the kids in the Summer Adventure program at the Old Town/Orono YMCA, and now I'm doing laundry. DH just got back from 101 Maineiac Ave in Bangor (the commissary) with a bunch of groceries.

We're heading to the farmer's market in Orono at 2 p.m.

Just think, Pensacola is one of the more desirable cities in Florida. Beautiful beaches, and it is not such a huge town as most Florida cities go. It is more of a laid back, small town than most of the metro areas of Florida. Plus you are close to some really beautiful sights. Imagine how you guys would not have liked the rest of the state!

Well here we are. Uneventful trip, and the cable guy is done hooking up the internet as of a couple of minutes ago. I'll post more a bit later, but it looks as if a bomb went off in the house right now, and I have a ton of unpacking to do. Just wanted to let you all know we all arrived safe and sound.

"Unevenful trip" is the best kind of moving you can ask for it.

I love reading those stories around Thanksgiving when these doofuses drop an ice covered frozen turkey in a giant pot filled with 375 degree oil. It darn near explodes. Hope they keep a fire extinguisher handy!
