I was toying with the idea of putting them in hockey when the time comes, but I'm not sure yet. There sure don't seem to be many African-American hockey players around. My brothers were both hockey players in their younger days (in Western Canada). They would be thrilled if their nephews continued that tradition!
In Maine, there probably aren't very many African-American PEOPLE around! You just enroll them and let them play! They'll fit right in, I'm sure.

And I've never heard of indoor soccer. My girls are loving soccer, this being their first year. They're already asking if Maine "has soccer". I've told them Aunt Molly's son plays soccer just like they do, so they're in good shape. They're excited. They've been talking about playing soccer in the snow. I told them I'm not sure how that works. So, indoor soccer? Cool.

As you no doubt know already there are few African-Americans up this way anyway. Kids are kids . They don't look at color. If they are rotten toward your children it's because they most likely have redneck parents and hear that crap all the time. African -Americans have proven their abilities in a great many traditionally white dominated sports as of late. I need only mention Tiger Woods. James "Bubba" Stewart is the best motocross racer on the planet now and is just about the ONLY black racer in the sport!

Put them in hockey, color be damned. They are kids. My cousin is Indian (as in the country) and it has never affected him. He gets treated just like any other kid. Kids generally do not pay much attention to color unless an adult makes an issue of it. So if they want to play, let them. Its not like its the major leagues or whatnot.

There weren't any other three year olds in the program when I registered K for skating lessons at Alfond. She was the youngest and smallest scarecrow on ice and she had a blast. I bet the boys would have fun even if everyone was blue (which is the color you begin to think you're turning when you're sitting in the cold arena early in the morning for the umpteenth time).

What's great about this country is the ability to succeed regardless of our skin color and once you peel off the facade, inside we are all the same.

Was that ice skating lessons? We're hoping to learn. Our girls have never even roller skated! Is ice skating more difficult, or about the same?

7th, I so agree! I fell in love with his voice so long ago. He has got just enough of that country appeal that makes me fall in love with him every time I hear him. LOVE him! Nice link. Made me swoon.

I got Boo'd today too. But, here's a clue. It was from someone slumming with me over in the election forum.
