Forest, hmmmm...are you sure? It DID say spices.
I did add garlic, salt & pepper, ricotta, parm & the mozzarella. Those other ingredients you mentioned sound like something I might find in a real cooks kitchen. I didn't inherit my mothers cooking gene. Instead I inherited my dads humor gene. Which I suppose one could dispute. I crack me up.

Mine has garlic, oregano, basil, onion with ricotta, mozarella, and parmesean cheeses!
How sweet of you to get ready for his homecoming, I'm sure he'll be tickled. However, you may want to only give him a small portion. If you haven't seen him in a while, you don't want him slipping into a food coma!

I cooked tonight! Uh-huh, yep I did. I know, I know. How unlike me, right?
Dh is flying in tonight at 10:30 and I made for tomorrow night's dinner.....
Ready? A lasagna! I know, right? No, I didn't grow my own tomatoes or even make a homemade sauce. I would have no idea how to do that. No, I didn't make the pasta from scratch. I don't even know what's in pasta. For all I know it grows on a tree. But I did make something that looks very similar to a meat lasagna. It has even has meat, I know - I put it in there! I even cooked it first. I added some spices. (just the usual ones, like cinnamon and nutmeg) Hey, it's all I had. It said to "add spices" so I did.
He's going to be so surprised! Oh, I do hope he likes it!

That's it the partying days are over....you hit the big five-o, start cooking, next you'll be raising chickens and goats on the veranda!

Mermaid...sounds Greek to me...Pastitsio ( Greek Lasagna) has cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg in the recipe. I like Greek.

Mermaid, don't listen to this nonsense. If you're the cook, you add what you want to the dish!
If anybody says anything, or coughs in a suspicious way, just tell them that it's all the rage. Then chastise them for not being up on the latest. After all, how do people come up with new and exciting flavor ideas? They experiment!
If anyone complains, I'll come over and clean the plate up for you! Yummmm.

Sounds perfectly Mediterranean to me! I've seen recipes with nutmeg used in home-made mac-n-cheese. That would be the kind with REAL cheeses, not Velveeta!
