I got the pumpkin pie so far...not unhappy, though! It happens to be the favorite part of the meal for me (except for the turkey, of course!).

We went to Old Town Spring today for the opening weekend of "Home for the Holidays" held every year. OTS was a booming railroad town in the 1800s, now turned into a huge commercialize money sieve! I won't even tell you guys how much we spent entertaining the kids on this special Christmas outing. You'd all send me "SAVE YOUR MOVING MONEY" memos!
Anyway..........I had a few thoughts when looking back through these pics:
In November, you're NOT supposed to be wearing shorts, and you're sure as shootin' not supposed to be selling snow cones!!
Also, when we visited the wine tasting room to taste test and buy a couple of bottles of Texas wine, we sipped COLD mulled wine. Sacriledge! The owner said they decided not to warm it with it being in the upper 70s today. THAT was a shock to the palate!
The shops were all pretty & decorated nicely, but it just lacked that "Home for the Holidays" feeling we crave.
Beam us up, Scotty!!!

I have always liked the holidays, but I really wish they would wait until after Thanksgiving to start all the commercials and decorating and festivals. DH and our daughter have November BDays and it seems to gloss right over those as well as Thanksgiving.

Quite often they're wearing a sweatshirt, work boots and tube socks with those shorts,.... if it's "cold".
