I hope you're right! I was out there 45 minutes today. Isn't that enough? The bucks are getting amorous now. The buck we saw yesterday was paying more attention to the doe he seemed to be following than the truck that could have run him over. I don't know where I'm going in the morning but I'm going out. Maybe I'll figure out where it makes sense to me and not go there. I suppose we won't starve if I don't hunt at Hannaford. I have nine heritage turkeys and some ducks outside, three dozen chickens in the freezer and we can't forget, a husband that hunts too. Farmer friend will keep me in pork and beef.

We pounded the brush hard again today. I got a shot at a small deer maybe a button buck at about 175 yards with my .260 and scope set at 4 power, right at sunset (AGAIN). I'm pretty sure I missed it clean.(AGAIN!)
I was out with the flashlights but saw no sign I had hit it! I'm SOOOO mad at myself!
I sat down the other day and shot four rounds with a 30-30 at 100 yards and put two directly in the bullseye with open sights. I CAN shoot but lately I just can't seem to connect!
I was hitting woodchucks at over 100 yards this summer yet I can't hit a deer???? Boy do I feel OLD!
We got a nice turkey hunting at Hannaford's this weekend and it was only .47 cents a pound.
I think you may be on to something MW.

BTW I started a deer hunting update thread!

I'm sorry. I'm apologizing up front and I'm going to grab the first person I can reach and throwing him or her in front of me. Ok, now that I have a shield....

Have you had your eyes checked?

Remember, I said I'm sorry!

I stopped, looked at him, and before I could stop myself; told him he went past looking cool and made it all the way to the frozen dip-stick stage. I thought his buddies were going to come unwrapped laughing.
Cool!!
