No, I'm just thinking it's two lame ass brothers up in the woods drinking too much and just happened to have a .22 handy. One of them won the argument, the other one ended up looking like a colander.

Holy crap! I wish I had a scope on my 30-30, or even a .22 with a scope- I just went out to get a couple of logs for the fire and as I was going back in I heard some noises. "Jeez", I thought, "that sounds like a turkey." I turned and looked, and on the far side of the field were/are at least a dozen of the biggest turkeys I've seen around here.

The range is over 100 yards, if they were deer I know I wouldn't miss even with just the open sights on the Winchester, but there's no way I could hit something as small as a turkey head at that distance...and I wouldn't be able to do the rest even if I did hit.

Anybody need a turkey or three?

darn.. if you would shoot 'em I'd come and clean 'em, no problem. But unless they'd walk up and let me whack 'em with my trusty hatchet... well... you can tell I am more used to tame (or at least penned up!) fowl..

You'd miss it! They see bullets coming and duck.

So, I got my Quoddy Tides - finally! I'm not believing how cheap rentals are up there! Pretty consistently around half of what the same house would rent for here - general condition not a consideration since I don't see pics. The homes for sale in the area are also VERY reasonably priced and many come with parcels of land. That's something else you don't get here very cheap. Cool!

El, do the rental prices listed include utilities? If not, beware!

No, but they never do here, either. Here, we have to add electric and water/sewer/trash, and some houses have natural gas as well. And I'm finding rentals for $500+ (most 500-800) a month PLUS utilities. Down here, you'll pay $900-$1500 a month (depending on location) for a 2-3 BR PLUS utilities.
