Oh msina! I am so happy for you. Enjoy those wet nosed kisses! I just love a puppy, a warm, snuggly and curious bundle of new life. Watching them learn new things, seeing them run in their funny uncoordinated way. Having them stay right with you and knowing you are their comfort zone. Enjoy!

Are you ready for this name?
Are you sure?
OK - Chewbecca. Because she is fuzzy like a wookie on Star Wars and because she is a girl they couldn't call her Chewbacca because "that is a boys name." They call her "Chewy" for short. Except for Alex, he calls her Chewbecca all the time.

Awww! Congrats msina! There's nothing like puppy breath and Frito feet.
Chewy - a very appropriate name for a teething puppy!

I'll have to stop by in a day or so and say hi to him (and you of course... <g>)
thought of you when I went out to the PO today, but figured you were likely enroute to the airport to claim the little guy.

His flight was scheduled to land at 3:35,.. we left for the airport at 1:00..... a little excited. The puppies (there were 3) were brought immediatly to the ticket counter. We met a nice couple from Parkman picking up a Springer Spaniel pup,... there was also a black and white Pekingese. Lots of happy people.
I am always glad to see your smiling face.

I flew out of Bangor on Sunday on my way back to Florida. I was really shocked to see the whole Bangor airport full of soldiers on their way to Iraq. It really sort of shook me up to see all those men, those young men, on their way to Iraq. We read about it in the news, we see it on TV, but to be in the presence of all those young men who are headed into harms way brings it home. I noticed that most of the civilians sort of ignored those guys. Since I was going all the way to Florida, I decided to get a bite to eat. I had been on the coastal bus all the way down from Perry, and was hungry. I waited about 45 minutes then decided the line would never go away, so I waded in among the soldiers and took my place in line with them. They were having a great time, kidding and laughing with each other and it seemed as if they were just there as a big group of guys playing around. The line took about 30 minutes to move to where I could place an order. The guys were all smiles, and I returned a smile and made conversation with them. I ordered my food and found a table to sit down that was vacant. There were so many that the coffee shop was packed. I wanted to offer them my seat, but instead I invited several guys to sit with me. They were polite and thanked me. I was humbled in their presence. They all had the "death from above" Airborne patches on. They were quite a crew. They asked me where I was from and we bantered back and forth for about 20 minutes. All of a sudden someone came in and they all got up almost all in unision and began to move orderly, quietly toward the gate. A huge charter plane was parked at the gate. I wished them well and a safe return. They all smiled and shook my hand. Within 5 minutes every one of them was out of sight and on the plane. I know they certainly weren't out of my mind, and have not been since that day. They were just so young.
