I long time since gave that book of poems to my son so he could read them to my grand daughter....I did find it on line at this site....( I guess I wasnt the only one to think it perfect for a wedding.

I can remember sitting on his bed and reading stories and then almost always ending with the four verses and then we would talk about what we thought they meant ..... then a kiss good night....and then off to sleep.

I believe that cleaning your guns and possibly taking the "young man out on a "man to man" outing to talk & he'll think your both bonding - then as you bite the top off your beer bottle you will confess killing a man with you bare hands and that time in prison made you hard and un-trusting
etc..............
.......................may work just as nicely as not giving him a "taste of what your made of" but what you may be made of in "his mind".
