Great to hear that the weather is better for you out there. Glad you and yours made the trip in good shape. Best wishes!

LOL, we're already discussed getting 4 wheelers. Been a long time since I last rode a dirt bike.
Told my husband if I get a horse and go out riding, I want two things......a pistol with snake shot and a 30.06 in case I run across a bear or mountain lion!

A pistol and a rifle just for bear and lions?

That is kind of over doing it a bit

I have pistols and rifles, but when it comes to bear meetings, I sing!

It chases the bear away everytime.

Not the worst idea!
I'd love to live somewhere like that. I love dirtbike riding but around here it's only old swamps, railroad beds, or power lines. There's a ton of good single and double track riding in NM! I'd love to ride on the old wagon trails near Santa Fe checking out old camps and abandoned towns... what a hoot! I hope you enjoy New Mexico. I know I would!

I have a question. It may seem stupid but since I never lived anywhere but Maine I'll present it. When we visit some place new we get all excited about it but usually after a week or so I'm anxioius to go home.
When you move somewhere new, a long distance from where you previously lived, do you feel like you're just visiting for a while until it sinks in that you're really going to stay there?

I'll take a stab at this one. I moved from Maine where I'd lived for almost 48 years to South Florida 2 years ago. Always having been a beach person, DH and I had always vacationed in tropical places so I did truly feel like I was on vacation for the first year. I was in heaven. I have no intention of spending the rest of my life in Florida, I'm still a just a Mainer living in Florida right now. For me it will never be home, but it's a great place to hang out in the winter months. Some parts of it still fascinate me, others scare the hell out of me. I am fortunate that I do have the opportunity to travel home quite often. Without that, I'd be miserable.
