90? Must be in the sun. It's 78 here by the lake and we have a nice breeze.

The thermometer on our stoop (north side of building, on the shady side of the post) says 94. It says 86 in here on the desk, and is predicted to drop to 59 as a night time low.

Summer has arrived in Maine. Thank the Gods Autumn comes more or less on schedule! Two months I can stand, especially if it continues to cool in the evening hours.

It's down to 86* now, in the shade. It usually does cool down nicely at night. If I'd covered the bay window the house would have stayed cooler today. It's still cool in here. The ceiling fan is on but that's it. The additional insulation in the attic is a big help.

Talking Hello MAINE WRITER!! Thank you!!!!!

GREAT THREAD MAINE WRITER!

THANK YOU!!!

Should I assume that it gets hotter on the Coast vs. inland areas??

What about the humidity factor and bugs? Is it worse on the Coast

vs. inland areas?

Try to stay COOL!And remember that there are other areas in the

country that are worst off right now.........It is SO HOT in other

states! I think its GREAT that it gets cooler in the evenings!!!:0):0):0)

THANK YOU ALL!!

HAPPY SUNDAY!

I worked in the garden both before and after church and noticed I was pretty sweaty and overly hot. Ran a few errands and used the AC in the car....after that watched the amazing Wimbledon match.....open window and felt cool and pleasant.
I have been loving the sunny days the last couple of days.....No complaints here....

yeah, believe me I REMEMBER! We used to sweat it out and try not to put the AC in until Memorial Day... not using it in July was unthinkable, at least for K. I did my first year on the NC coast sans AC. Survived but was miserable a lot.

We have fans going, and even in a "tin box" in the middle of a gravel field, it is only hot, not unbearable.

Talking Hello STARWALKER!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your post STARWALKER!

I am glad that its bearable not miserable! And that you all can sleep

nicely in the evenings!

The other day I read on MSN that the sweatiest city in the country, sweating

over 20 ounces per hour was Phoenix (and they say its DRY

heat LOL! ) followed I believe by Las Vegas (another

Dry Heat place) and the place with the least sweating factor and

most bearable summer was

San Francisco with an average temp. in the 60's during the summer

The study ranked 100 cities.

That is why I was wondering if being inland was a lot better (not as hot

during the summer)

Take care STARWALKER!!

TRY STAYING COOL

HAPPY SUNDAY!

it's usually 'cooler on the coast' That's a very common weatherman phrase. Today it is beautiful on the coast...right now there is a strong breeze off the water with the sun shining in the bright blue sky.
