Summer to me is falling asleep in the sun , hanging out laundry, walking out my front door to the beach so my dog can swim. Just hanging out at our house with the warm seabreeze.

Summer in Maine means to me...
Family so close you can reach out and touch em'!
Abundant wild blueberries, reach down and grab a handful.
Salty smelling air - light fog - haze over the bay.
Getting up in the morning, sitting out on the deck and watching your family head out to sea to haul traps.
The smell of a freshly cut hay field.
Roadside farm stands, on the honor system.
Cows out grazing in the green fields.
Freshly made Gingerbread and home made whip cream. (thanks, mom!)
Did I mention family?
Finally, being home again where I belong.

in the summertime when the weather is fine,,,you reach right up and touch the sky,,,
summertime in maine means ,,,,going fishing, swimming,,,heat, sunblock, smell of fresh cut lawns, motorcycles,, beaches, smell of pine needles, road construction, cooking, grilling outside..
And it was summertime
And oh the wonder
We felt the lightning
And we waited on the thunder
Waited on the thunder

Although I have spend what time I could in Maine so far, summer in Maine means to me:
Waking up at 4:30 when the sun begins to come up
Watching the fog roll in from the Ocean, or watching it roll in from inland, however it chooses to come and go.
Guarding my favorite water view just to make sure all that water is safe;
Working in the yard without a shirt and getting a sunburn, in Maine?? you bet,
Looking at all the wildflowers in bloom, and listening to all the crows;
Watching the 4th of July fireworks on the pier and needing a jacket,
Hugs from people I just met who are life long Mainers,
Looking at sunsets with that white downeast Maine glow
Whitecaps in the afternoon on the bay;
An afternoon beer shared with the locals (it is so easy to spot people from away)
Going to bed at sundown to get enough sleep and
Sharing all these things with my wife.
