Sort of.. if it's the house I think, I liked it as well. I think it may be right across from the B&B. Did you try to google or mapquest the address?

At the Roman sites a common feature was the public lavatory. They used a piece of sponge on the end of a short stick. They would dip it in a jar with vinegar. Instead of corn cobs or TP, they used a sponge on a stick.
Not only was there no privacy, you shared the sponge.

I'm not sharing my sponge!!!!

That house on 40 Capen does seem like a good buy, however, from what I understand, it needs some work....it was a little further from town than some of the other homes for sale, however, still within walking distance....looked nice from the outside, tho....
Hope that helps!

Hopefully, no outhouses !
Seriously, was it on the side behind the B&B or further away on the other side of Water Street?
Just asking because DH's Aunt said that Meg who writes for the Quoddy Tides would be looking into selling soon and I thought this might be her place. She described it as on the water, small, but with lots of windows...only she couldn't remember exactly where it was.

Just found it on Due east's site....can't believe they've reduced it to $89K.

Luxury 2 holer
Out in the corner of our barn there is a lovely two-holer, with nice linoleum rug on the floor from the 1920's, a window, shelves, and a hook for winter coats, and even some old reading material. I have no idea when it was last the houses privy-but our current bathroom seems to been put in around 1940. We aren't sure quite what to do with our "outhouse" as it is built right into the structure. I thought it was kinda cool! And what intimacy back in the day you shared everything

Yup, it's been on the market a while now at that price....we were initially interested in that one until we found out it needs work....neither DH nor I are handy and we were looking for something ready to move into.....
For anyone who is handy, tho, it seems like a great buy!

The house on 40 Capen is not on the water, so this probably isn't the house you're thinkin' of....
There is a house, tho, at 190 Water Street which is across from the water and looks to have a really nice ocean view, is small and has lots of windows...this might be the one she's talking about....it's going for $140K on Spinnaker although just yesterday I saw it went under contract....the taxes were a bit high on this one, tho, but I guess that's 'cause of the ocean view....heard they tax you higher when you have that....
