Default rural property around Bangor

Hello Everyone,

I am considering pursuing a job in Bangor. This has been my first stop in researching the area.

I want to eventually purchase a property of about 3-10 acres with a decent home for about $250k.

Would that be pretty hard to do in the areas surrounding Bangor? Impossible? Difficult but not impossible? Easy? How far a drive would I have to do, to accomplish this?

It looked like this would be a good place to ask.

Thanks for your input.

Hi Bonnie,

I'm not in Maine yet, but from what I've seen on many scouting missions to several rural areas around Bangor is you can buy a lot of land and house for $250K.

Welcome and good luck!

Bonnie-
I live 'near' Bangor.

We live in the forest, we have river frontage and are 7 miles from the freeway.

I would suggest that perhaps $250k is a bit high. Put half that into a good investment portfolio.

I would recommend that you consider something with a bit more than 10 acres, so that you can keep most of it in 'treegrowth' status. I can explain in detail via PM, the benefits of 'Treegrowth'.

Welcome to CD
