I'm with Molly - I'm getting tired of the Augusta bashing and I'm getting real tired of this sex offender registry discussion. It's been discussed to death in several threads.

Well, as for the sex offender registry discussion...it was relevant to the topic discussion of crime rates and the number of rapes, which was kinda high. Plus, I have less than 20 posts and I'm new, so I wasn't here for other discussions on that subject. Sorry if you are sick of it but it's kinda unreasonable to expect new members to be mind readers and know what everyone else has posted previously.

The SEARCH feature is a handy tool on this site. If you just search for the keyword you'd like info on, you'll get a gazillion references that you can browse. When I was a newbie on the forum, it was an invaluable tool, and I still find myself using it frequently two years later!

ok, I'm not listing my credentials on here.... suffice it to say I've worked in Human Services a very long time, including child and family services, and there is a reason I put sex in quotation marks. Chances are very good that when you get out in the field I'll be teaching one of your workshops. Or not, as I see from your previous posts that you don't intend to stay in Maine. I was not picking on you at all, I was simply referring to the fact that changing your clothes in your car in Maine can land you on the registry. If you'd read back as I suggested, you would have understood exactly what we've discussed here in the past.

I apologize if I offended anyone with my analyzations and generalizations about Augusta...I am really not an overly critical person normally. Let it be noted that you may feel differently about the importance of the statistics...and getting the word out there...if someone you loved was a victim of one of these crimes. When it hits close to home one tends to be a bit more passionate about the issue at hand.

Be blessed everyone, good luck this winter! Im heading out but I did make sure to cast my absentee ballot in Maine this year!!
au reviore.
