That should help.

Would you like to use spray-on foam?

Or hard foam board?

Is there a layer of foam on the outside of the stone foundation? Maybe a French drain too?

We built a straw-bale home not too far from Pittston. We did it ourselves and it is bigger and more complicated than the Hobbitt House. So, I know it can be done Some towns in Maine have building codes, others do not. Go the Town Hall and find out. Usually, the strictest part is waste disposal. Outhouses are legal.
