hehe
I recall at "my drive in" that most of the movie go'ers who really wanted to see the movie or brought their little ones would park less then half way or to the front. The rest of us were all near the tree line.
I think I saw mollysmiles getting popcorn one time...... hehe.. but maybe I'm mistaken.

I can't say I've ever been to a drive in....Definitely something I would like to do though. I have friends in Skowhegan so this may be the perfect excuse for a visit

Yes, I recall the truck that held the most people drove to the drive in. Those days were something else.
I use to believe it was like the crossing the border into Mexico.
I never did ride in the trunk thou.
Mrs. Ranger, I'm sure your father was a clever man who knew the drive in was full of people that were bad. But we were bad in a good way. lol

When I was a teenager there were two drive-ins in Brunswick, one on each side of town. My dad was also very strict so I always had the earliest curfew of all of my friends. I could be mistaken but I don't think I ever went to one until after I had left my parents house at the age of 18. Although there could also be a reason WHY I don't remember going, it was the 70's!
I used to take my kids to the two down in the Saco/ Westbrook area. It seemed strange to not have to put that ungodly huge steel speaker on your car door window but instead tune in to an AM radio station to hear the movie.

I still remember when We first built our camp in Hartford , going to the Jay Hill Drive In , and looking forward to the Cheeseburgers and Pop Corn , as the were really good , and cooked to order. Unlike what the tried to pass off at My local Drive In. as food.
As I recall , it was the same person who took Your money both entering , and at the snack bar.
Bob
Ps.
I also enjoyed going to the Lisbon Drive In. , But You had to check what was playing that nite

LOL! If I remember correctly, they catered to an "older crowd" after midnight! One of them in Brunswick did the same thing.
I had forgotten about that!
