Question DSL in Searsport

Hi everyone!
I'm planning to spend the winter in Searsport and I work from home. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are many problems with DSL/power outages during storms in the winter? I know you can have a bad storm anywhere. I'm just wondering if it's a typical problem that happens every winter.
Thanks for your comments!

I had a friend in Searsport with DSL....not very many power outages, but a lot of times her internet was slow....I'm not sure why.

Thanks for the reply. I was just investigating the area and wanted to make sure it didn't get knocked out by major outages a lot. I would assume that's not the case since from what I hear people don't need generators there?

I don't think in Searsport there is a big need for a generator...it's usually pretty mild.

I live in Belfast just down the road from Searsport. I have cable internet and its pretty fast, I have no complaints about speed. I moved into my house in December of 07 and I didn't lose power at all so that wasn't an issue for me either. Will you be on a main road in Searsport or on the outskirts?

I'll be off the main road so it sounds like from what you guys are saying, I shouldn't have any problems. And no need for a generator right?

I'm in Northport (a town further south from Belfast), and we've lost our power maybe twice in 1.5 years, for short periods each time.
