Our inside source owns his own oil company, mentioned that not to buy now but to hold off.. it's going down.

We called today about topping off, and he told us to wait, we won't be sorry.

Since we are "holding the cards, we might as well take a chance and see if we can win."

Ha Ha Ha brainwashing is sooooo easy!
They want you to buy now because they have to lower the price in order to make the same multi-billion $$$ they made last month and they know that the threat of a hurricane is a sure fire way to make the public panic!

Americans were forced to re-think how-when & how much they drive because they had to choose between gas for cruising around or food for the kids. Now that they have, big oil is trying to retrain us!

I'm hoping the lower fuel prices will continue to be the trend for a while, but with all these storms headed toward the states, who knows. What's up with that??? Why so many this year. I've never seen this many storms back to back. Who left the gate open?

Gas prices have jumped as much as 80 cents a gallon in the Southeast and as far north as Kentucky and Illinois overnight. Check the link. Refineries are not back up from Gustav and the major refineries in and around Port Arthur, Texas are about to be flooded. This will be the most damaging hurricane of all time in the USA. Tomorrow and Monday the media will be reporting this as an unexpected calamity. Maine oil dealers will be blamed by Michaud and Andrews who will call for investigations.

Remember; You saw it here first.

fxtrader, in middle TN where I am right now, even though the price of a barrel of oil is down, the prices are sky rocketing and climbing by the minute. This morning coming to work it was $3.41. This afternoon it's up to $4.09. And the armored car guy that picks up my deposits for the bank is friend's with someone that works at a station. They called him and told him to get have his wife fill both their vehicles now, as tonight their station is going to $4.62. So at this point, regardless of what a barrel closes at, we're getting killed already.

Funny, I've seen the prices fluctuate here in TN the last couple years every time a hurricane goes through the Gulf. But when I lived on the coast of Florida if the gas stations raised their prices because of that it was called gouging and the state attorneys came down incredibly hard on them - massive fines and charges. I wonder why one state can get away with it and others can't??

Most gas stations will change the prices once or twice a day dependent on the current wholesale prices. The reason you saw the spike in yor area today is because of Ike and the wholesale price in the gulf area is trading at a record $2.50 cents over the future contract. The Gulf Coast gasoline contract closed at $2.71 a gallon which was pretty much flat for the day. Crude Oil also closed pretty much flat for the day. Hopefully we can get through Ike unscathed and continue to see prices come down.

I'm not a gambler thou... even in my last post I'm biting my nails in fear.

Holding off.... aaaaaah

Kind of like the last piece of cake in the ice box, and I want it, but it's like 11pm and if I eat it I'll probably regret and hate myself in the morning.. but it's very tempting.
