I'm sorry about that NMLM,
I was hoping we all could meet in Bangor
Saturday October 18
at the Olive Garden in Bangor
We will be the gathering of the
"City-data group"- (in case you arrive and need to find others)
I can be there around 11ish.
I leave here early enough to get there and get back before dinner is always better for me.
I think they open their doors at a 11am too.
RHB: I'm not sure if I will still be around, but there could be many others there.
I have errands to do (unless I get them done on this Tuesday coming~taking my Sarah to the denist)

Oh... I will be "peachie" that day. ~ I will be leaving my 7th generation costume at home till the holidays.

looking for my ancestors
I am looking for any family named Whipple or Moulton who are or whose ancestors were farmers in Bango Maine in the eraly 20s. My grandfather was born in Bangor Maine but as a teenager he ran away from home and joined the Navy. He changed his name and after many years went to Argentina where he was resposible for putting the highest telephone cable in the world between Argentina and Chile and later Bolivia. That was between 1922 and 1928. After his death we found many snap shot in black and white of his family with notes on the back of each and naming his sisters as either "Whipple" or "Moulton". I would love to know about him or his family. I live in Argentina and am enormously proud of him. I think perhaps his family would be too.

Wow, that is exciting. I'm not from Bangor so I couldn't be much help there. The history behind his youth and to growing up has such mystery. I'm sure his family in this state would be very proud of him for all the things he has done. Best of luck to you in finding out about "your new family".

I just want everyone to know the turmoil this thread has me in. I am not really up to driving to Maine right now - although the gas prices are certainly encouraging right now... I don't like to fly but have even checked air fares to get me there for the meet on the 18th. THAT is so not going to happen!!! I was rudely reminded one of the things I hate about flying. Preposterous rates and routes! Would you believe one of the (flying) options would take me to Atlanta and Chicago first and take a total of 11 hours from departure to arrival at Bangor. Heck, I can drive it in 15 (when feeling 100% and if I felt rushed about getting there)! Much of the problem is that I am nowhere near 100% right now and the trip would take well over 3 days for me to get there, if then.
I've even been sitting here thinking about things I could/need to do or might be able to fit into an impromptu trip up...just to be at the meet. Yeah, I could take advantage of picking bushels and bushels of apples from my very own trees and bringing them back here to make apple wine or crab apple jelly. I could hire some muscle to help me get my item out of NMLM's shed and into my camp once and for all. I am kinda running low on Bailey's Irish Cream and could stop in a NH state store to replenish my supply (of that and other items) on the way back.
And here Maine Writer is gonna make it after all and here I sit, after making such a fuss with her about it....
Ya'll have no idea what I am going through because I know I can't be there, no matter what. Picture me banging my head against a wall. Someone be sure and rub it in and have a piece of tiramisu (and include a pic of it) - then tell me how wonderful it was and what I missed. Yeah, that'll teach me to miss a meet!

No need to hire anybody. Wish it done before the snow flies and it will be done. I would just need a temporary key to get it in there.
I intend to be in Bangor on Saturday.

I have had to make repeated trips to CT the last couple of weeks. [I hate urban building inspectors]
I see this thread has grown a lot. I should be available this Saturday. There is a trade event in Harmony that same weekend, that I was thinking of attending. But you friends have priority.
