Note to El... remove fur collar before donning it in Maine.

On handmade mittens - wool, not synthetic yarn.

I know it's not PC to have any fur on your clothing, but my mom still has a coat with a fur collar and she loves it. It keeps her neck so much warmer than the regular coat collar does.

Frig PC. I'd rather see furs from trapped animals put to good use by keeping us warm rather than thrown on a carcass pile for the scavengers. I wish more people wore beaver. It would help control the flooding all over the place out here.

What is the point of a vest? No sleeves? Really? I don't understand how that could be enough warmth. What would you wear that for?

A lot of people find that if their back is warm, the rest of their body doesn't really feel cold. That doesn't work for me personally. If my arms are cold, I'm cold all over.
Vests are good in late Fall when you may want a little warmth without a full coat, but once Winter hits, give me my sleeves!!!

I agree.... they don't keep me warm either. Cute though Especially the fleece ones with the princess tailoring....
ok, that was my girlie statement for the whole next year! It does happen once in a while

OMGosh, you sound like me! I do girly about once a year, maybe once every 2 years.
My mom has a fleece vest with princess seams, a small collar and some cute embroidery. It's adorable and she will frequently wear it inside the house if she feels a bit chilly but doesn't want to turn the thermostat up any higher. She says it's just right for that purpose.
