Default fishing/camping weekend

Late this month my father is coming out to spend a week with me and our new daughter and I'd like to take a short weekend camping and fishing trip with him and my 3 year old son. Without asking anybody to divulge their best fishing holes, can anybody recommend a good lake to fish with a nearby place to car camp (drive in and pitch tent)?

It would need to be within, say, a 3.5 hour drive of Portland. Also, it would have to be fishable by dock as we don't have a boat. A way to rent a small skiff would be really ideal...

thanks for any info

Try Lake Wassookeag in Dexter. There is a small campground right next to the public boat launch and the popular eatery known as Lakeshore Lunch with ice cream delights and yummy fried haddock baskets. It is a child's (and a parent's) delight in the summer as there are picnic tables, a sand beach for swimming and a playground and across the road is another place to cast a line. Very family friendly town. Here's link to the town's website: http://www.dextermaine.org/
