Smile Waterboro Information

Our family will be moving to the Waterboro (Lake Arrowhead) area by the end of spring.
Was looking for any information regarding the area (would like the truth, no matter how much it may hurt).
My wife has been a CNA for the last 18 yrs and may need to find work, I will be coomuting on the downeaster to Boston.
Our oldest daughter will be going into Kindergarten this coming school year.

Would just like to know the basics of the area.
For example:
Good places to eat that are kid-friendly
Good auto mechanics
Schools
Places to avoid
Etc...

Waterboro is a nice little town. It has a Hannaford grocery store (a major chain here). There are a few restaurants that are diner type places and there is a new chinese food place. There is a gas station and a Dunkin Donuts also a few convenience stores. There are not a lot of places for shopping but there are some little shops. Sanford is about 30 minutes away or so with more conveniences and a hospital where your wife could look for employment. Portland is about 40 minutes or so away which is our largest city here in Maine. There is Maine Medical Center and Mercy where Nurses would be welcomed with open arms, lack of nurses. Lake arrowhead is a man made lake with great fishing from what I hear. I've never heard anything bad about the schools and did see on the news recently that they just built a brand new Jr. High School. I don't go there often, mostly just drive through and from what I see it is clean and a pretty countryside. Good luck and welcome to Maine.

Thanks for the info. Dunkin Donuts is a major plus (need the morning jo). The chinese food, well sorry nothing compares to the ones in MA (all the states I have been to I have yet to find others). The diner-types are the ones I like best for you tend to get "real" food served by "real" people. The rest I know we will find out about soon enough.
