Default Neighborhood with great middle school near Brewer

Hi, I am thinking about a new job in Brewer, it would be a huge move but it is something I am really excited about. I have a few general questions.

Are there local counties with better schools. I have a middle school age child who is a struggling reader so I need a district with a middle school good for struggling readers. Can anyone give me some information on the school districts Penobscot, Hancock or Waldo?

Politics in general: Is the Bangor/Brewer area conservative or liberal?

Is there any possibility of living down closer to the water, in Stickton Springs or Castine or anywhere like that or would the commute be too far? I don't think I could afford it anyway, just curious.

ANY information at all would be realllllly helpful.
