Smile Coastal Maine Wedding Venues

Hi, I'm looking for ideas as to where to get married on the Coast of Maine. I'm looking to have an outdoor ceremony, and a reception in a place where guests are free to roam outside or inside. (the ceremony and reception don't need to be at the same place) I'm not opposed to a tent either. I'd love to have the reception in a beautiful barn, but I can't find one! Untraditional venue ideas are especially welcome...but I want as many suggestions as possible! Thanks for your help!

We just had this discussion recently. You may do a forum search for "wedding", "ceremony" or "reception". You should come up with quite a few posts.

My vote is for Acadia. It's absolutely stunning! The beach down there is magical!! I could see a gauzy tent with lots of delicate flowers flowing in streamers around it blowing in the breeze...

I have friends who got married in August at Schoodic Point at sunset.... the photos are striking. Very small ceremony, we went to a large reception last weekend, and people there told us it was magical

Edgewood Farm here in Deer Isle is worth looking in to- they have the barn, usually the tent, and they are set up for weddings!

^Black Point Inn ( The Black Point Inn 510 Black Point Road, Prouts Neck, Scarborough Maine ) on Prout's Neck in Scarborough is pretty. It's a nice old inn and there are two dining rooms (both of which can be rented. Same with the rooms, all can be rented for one party). It sits on a rocky outcropping in Saco Bay and has ocean views to the East and West. You can see all the way to Mt. Washington, New Hampshire on a clear day. It's one of the few places on the East Coast where you can actually look out over the Ocean and watch the sun SET.

I would suggest looking into it, but Maine's coast is so vast that you'll surely find something.

This place is cool looking, but I don't think they offer skeet/trap shooting or keg rolling:

Try the 1812 Farm in Bristol, Maine or Clark's Cove Farm in Walpole, Maine. They have exactly what you are looking for. The 1812 Farm is more moderately priced.

Contact the Town of Freeport, Maine about the area at the end of Winslow Park. I have been to several weddings there. Very nice place right on the water, tons of parking and a barn too if I'm not mistaken

pilgrims inn on deer isle holds a few weddings every year. tent in the back yard among the gardens and a nice barn and remember, almost everything else is "off-island".
