ok, two things
1) the Birkenstocks need an addendum, like, Maine native is ok with Birks (I love the things!)
2) lobster traps and bouys too!
oh wait, misunderstood....
so, can I be held responsible if I wear my birks hunting? if they're part of my wardrobe anyway.... I think I could be exempt for that, I'm not using them as bait, I just happen to have them on my feet!

Of course! Natives are fine, just as used for bait for Eco-nazi's are they frowned upon. (My wife loves them as well.) If they are on your feet, they don't count as bait.

Forgot about the stupid bouys, man I must be slipping. But then again they don't have them slamming on their brakes in the middle of 1 on a Saturday afternoon to see if it is for sale like the ratty lobster traps do. Good Lord I saw a couple of battle axes from away about get into a fist fight over one once in Bar Harbor. One "Lady" was swinging her purse at the other screeching how she had seen it first, and I was laughing because the place had about 20 stacked up out back. Meanwhile my wife is dragging me the other direction hissing "be nice, be nice" at me.

ok now thats over with, we can get back to more pressing things.this morning i was out lookin to get a bird or two for supper.now if your a hunter you no how birds get in the fall.CRAZY!! they eat the fermenting apples that are on the ground and go crazy.any ways i was walking across the field and i see some thing flying at me then it landed.so i went over and it was a partrige.and he was runing in a circle and fallin down and rolling around like some crackd up junkee then i heard the thumping of another one behind me so i turnd around and this bird come out of the woods and just mist me by 2feet.and crash landed 80 or 90 feet away.mean while the one that was rolling around was lookin at me,eather them two birds were working together one distracts me while the other gets me from behind,or they have open bar some where in the woods.any ways i didnt shoot them becouse they were not in their right mind and couldnt fly off so i let them go and sober up.but if they are out there tomorow kaboom.

I am no hunter but I have no problems with others doing it. I do have one request though. Please all hunters wear some blaze orange clothing of some sort. We were driving in Lubec last weekend and we noticed one hunter moving along the edge of the road rifle in hand all decked out in camo with absolutely no orange anywhere to be seen.
Hunt safely!
Alan
PS - I hate all deer so please hunt them down!
PSS - You should have seen the crowd gathered aroung a truck towing a dead bull moose at the Newport Burger King. Man that thing was huge.

Some hunters were near my house yesterday. Their rifle shots were shaking our windows.
It seems like maybe they get a little too close when their rounds rattle our windows.
Previously I have gone outside and fired a few rounds myself, in the air, just to let hunters know that I am armed too. And maybe call the goats and sheep into their pens for safety.
Yesterday our eldest son [the Army vet] reminded his dad that it was better than artillery rounds going off near by.

A couple years ago a friend of mine and his girl friend were driving down road. An oncoming car hit deer and sent it through my friends windshield killing him and his girl friend - decapitated them. Another fellow I know was driving his motorcycle with his girlfriend on back. They hit deer - girlfriend killed, my friend suffered brain damage. He was an airplane mechanic - I say was; they won't let him work on airplanes anymore. I damaged many a good car hitting deer, luckily no injury on my part. Just last Sunday a fellow car guy was driving his '49 customized Chevy to a car show. (the last one of the season) Deer ran into his drivers door doing much damage; bounced off his car and hit his wife's car who was following him in her "68 Cougar. Talk about bad luck. Hitting a deer is bad enough, I can't imagine hitting a moose. Deer bow hunting season has been open now for almost a month in Wisconsin. Thank the Lord. Those deer are deadly.
