We are moving to Maine and my wife is a Phd level clinical psychologist. Anyone know of areas in need? Or any areas with expanding practices? Thanks

Many questions as usual with this type of question.

1. Where are you coming from?
2. Why are you moving to Maine?
3. What do you know about Maine?
4. Is your wife's specialty the only means that you have of support?
5. What kind of setting do you wish to be in when you live in Maine?

I'd say there is a lot of need for psychologists in ME. Placement in established offices or patients with the ability to pay...that's another story. Good Luck.

The only jobs in Clinical Psych that pay anything in Maine are Phd's. Acadia Hospital in Bangor is the only magnet hospital in Maine. I would give them a try.

Community Health & Counseling in Lincoln has an active practice. They would be a good place to make contacts. Lincoln is only 30 to 40 minutes from the university depending on weather.

The great thing about Maine is that you can be 15 minutes or so from a larger city and be in a completely rural setting. You shouldn't have any trouble meeting that criteria.
