I haven't been to Atlantic City in over 41 years (my 8th grade class trip) and probably will never go there. Just zero interest in the place. Now if they put a Ri Ra in the Northern Pocono Mountains in PA, I would be a happy camper, since we're going to move up there in retirement in a few years (if this economy ever gets moving).

As far as the sights out my window...

This morning was rainy, windy (20+ mph, gusts to 30) and cold (43 degrees) but the streets were still active with people coming and going. The water was quite rough with heavy swells and whitecaps.

Things have since settled down and more people are out there doing their thing.

I walked to the Standard Baking Co. for brunch and had their Asiago & cheddar pizza and an oatmeal raisin scone. Good stuff.
Have you tried Flatbread's pizza across Commercial street yet?

Good pizza.

OK... Now here's the problem... Gritty's or Flatbread Company?

Both! Go to Gritty's now before it fills with after work mug club members and then walk back to Flatbread for pizza!

Well I'll be leaving Portland in a few minutes. Thanks for the company while I was here. I hope to be back some day. It's beautiful here!

What a perfect day today. The sun is beaming down on the city and the wind has calmed.

For those who care... Last night I reversed my plans. I went to the Flatbread Company first. Had a Jay's Heart Pizza, a Geary's Autumn and two Allagash Whites. Then I sauntered over to Gritty's for a Gritty IPA and a few innings of the World Series (no TV's at the Flatbread).

Thanks again...

Dennis from NJ

PS. Weird feeling walking on those cobblestone roads after several beers
