I am loving it so far and I'm an outdoor junkie so I need to find some out door things to do here. 1st on my list is Camden bowl and snow mobiling but I want to check out XC skiing too.
Moose Point is closed, but the locals know you can park in the road in front of the gate, where you will not block it. That way it's free! You can get a nice swoop in a good snow down the hill from parking.

This is also true of the other state parks. There is a place to park and get in free, and they plow in front of the gates in the winter.

Camden Hills SF always has a free back entrance, at the corner of 173 and Youngstown Road. In the winter, the front entrance is free too, and there is a plowed winter parking lot. You can walk up the auto road to Mt Battie from there as well as the other trails. Wouldn't recommend skiing it unless you have very good health insurance.

Many people ski from their back door, just off into the woods.

You can access that trail also at the corner of Congress St and the Perkins Road. There is a dirt pullout parking spot. Careful crossing the street. You can also park off Rt 1 where you see the dam and the Water District building, on the road in there. Also it can be found if you park at the dog park/Walsh Field lot off Rt 52.

I believe it goes beyond the Y now, I think it goes all the way to the Passy River.

Wear your orange, it's hunting season.

I forgot, coffee places: Bay Wrap has a nice living-room-like coffee house they opened this year. It connects to their old restaurant in back.

The Masquers is putting on The Wind in the Willows in a couple weeks!

I know Belfast quite well, my Great Grandfather had a farm there until Route One came through...and then the high school was built, the cemetery expanded and the drive in theater was put in...oh progress, its inevitable I guess.

There are a few acres left located between Reny's and and the Redemption Center though. Not much there, but during Cranberry Season there is a nice bog in there with natural cranberries that we used to pick as kids...until we saw the snake and thus we never went back.

Belfast is a nice place though, and has a good hospital with some excellent specialists...at least for the size of the area it is in.

Welcome! We lived in Northport for 2 years, and just moved to the Berkshires 2 weeks ago. I hope you enjoy Belfast!

Thanks for the info on Moose Park. I noticed cars parked in front but I thought it might be workers since they do seem to be doing work on it. I went there and walked the trail the other day. It's nice!
I just didn't want to get kicked out for tresspasing but if it's allowed then I'll be stopping by more often.

I ate at Darby's. It was really good. So far I've eaten at Rollie's and Darby's and Chase's Daily. All 3 were excellent. I also stopped by the Rollie's in Searsport to shoot some pool. It was also really nice. Seemed more low key than the Rollie's in Belfast.

The Co-Op was interesting. I found a few things I liked. They really pack a lot of stuff in there for the space they have. They had tons of fresh local food. The Belfast Dog park is a must for doggie lovers. Very friendly people and a nice fenced in area for your pooch to run around in.

I'm getting ready to check out Bangor. I'm interested to see what it's like. I'm picturing just a bigger version of Belfast but I could be totally off on that.

Hey Kamorra, if you're in Searsport again, stop in at Shorty's for a meal and tell Patty (Shorty's wife / she runs the counter), Gale from the Cape and the Searsport Campground says hi! She'll probably hug you! But I know she'll give you a mountain of food! lol

Default Belfast options

Kamorra, I am new to Belfast myself and I find the BEST chais at Bell The Cat... I am normally a Dunkins freak for coffee, but had to ban the Belfast one for SOOOOO many reasons...YUCK! Sorry, not much help there...I've heard Dead River has the best "on the go" coffee... I also found an internet company with good local service and good prices.. Bluestreak Wireless. I think they are on the chamber's website if you want to look for them. Enjoy Belfast
