Just heard a man with a gun in Stockton Springs has taken a classroom of kids hostage But has given him self up. Hope everyone is as ok as they could be after that. My prayers go out to the kids and the families. everyone have a safe Halloween

Fox news is reporting the man took 11 fifth graders hostage, did no harm to them and is in Waldo County sheriff's custody. This could have been so much worse thank goodness.

well, lets collectively breath a sigh of relief it wasn't worse.... but this is life.

It happens "everywhere".

good response by the police and school. I hope they evaulate what happened and make the suttle changes "if necessary" but not get to carried away.

I am afraid the next thing we'll hear is this is another reason to restrict gun rights, every school needs a police officer in it, and god knows what other calls for more government response will be. I

We already have license checks and metal detectors for everyone entering our schools here. And inside Houston city limits, there are security guards in every school. That's why we're moving to Maine!

I'm guessing this incident may have been a domestic dispute - father trying to get to his own child. That's the most likely scenario in my mind for Small Town, ME.

Did you guys see his mug shot where he had a huge smile from ear to ear? I don't know if this was a domestic dispute or maybe the guy is just completely nuts.

Yes, I hope it was his drivers license,and not a mug shot
