Looking for Bridal Store Recommendations
HI,
I'm just starting my search for a wedding dress, but have no clue where to begin. Can anyone recommend any stores that they've had good experiences with? Or if you've had any bad experiences, I'd like to know where to stay away from. Anywhere between Portland and Bangor would be great.
Thanks in advance!

I had a "frequent flyer" discount at one of em. They couldn't keep up with inventory and had to go out of business.
(cheers, gale!)
Sorry OP, couldn't resist!

I'll tell you were to go, but don't laugh...Hussey's General Store in Windsor. Yep no joke...and yes it is the place with the famous sign that says: Guns, Beer, Wedding Gowns.
My wife went to all the famous bridal places in Waterville, Portland and Bangor and found every one to be snotty and kind of disrepectful. Now mind you we are not white trash by any means, nor rich either, but just average Mainers. Anyway she ended up going to Husseys Store and the women that worked there were ever so nice, polite and helpful. The alterations were fast, flawless and done with the same attention to service.
If you want to try and impress people with the name of the "bridal boutique" where you got the dress, this may not be the place for you, but if you want helpful, attentive service and a reasonably priced wedding dress, my wife and I will send you to Hussey's Gen Store. The dress was stunning too and on par with any bridal store in Maine.

David's Bridal in the Maine Mall (S. Portland) is always a safe bet.

We were at a wedding in Connecticut once, that was in an old stone chapel. They rented the chapel by the hour, and had different wedding parties using it every hour. Well it is difficult to get everyone present on time anyway, so our wedding started a bit late. When we left the chapel the next wedding party was already outside waiting to go in. The Bride was there with all of the maids lined up. There was a lot of lace and veils, the bride was wearing little more than stockings, garter, bikini bottom, corset, and lace. She was stunning.
There should really be more brides wearing outfits from Victoria's Secret.

Those are very nice photos, a wedding in old church would be very nice, more so if the bride [and her entire party] were wearing outfitted from Victoria's Secret.
