Re: the last few posts... that's what I thought, that the langostinos (AKA 'fake lobsters') were the more spiny-looking ones. And I sorta thought that the lobsters from Maine had members of the same species who might be swimming in nearby waters. Guess that's why it'd be nice if there were some official sort of thing to let consumers know where their lobster was caught. Like in France, things are very carefully labeled according to region of origin. Being this far away, who knows how much of my money finds its way back to the pockets of those who caught 'em? But I'd still like to support my home state as much as I can. Call me Pollyanna.

Basically, yup! Those aren't the ones I'm worried about telling apart from what I wanna buy... I may be nearsighted, but I think even I could tell the difference between those. LOL

"Well, you take this 'ere lobster..."
"Wot lobster? I don't see no lobster."
"We're going to 'ypothesize a lobster..."
"'Ow'r you going to 'ypothesize a lobster wot ain't 'ere?"
"Well, that's the thing, it's a *'ypothetical* lobster and..."
"Now see 'here, is this like that ex-parrot you tried to sell me last year?"
"Ex-parrot?"
"Yeah, you tried to sell me a dead parrot last year."
"Oh, *that* parrot. 'E were a beautiful Norwegian Blue, were'nt 'e? An' 'e wasn't dead, 'e were just sleepin'."
"'E WAS DEAD!"
"No 'e wasn't..."

My grandma taught me to harvest vegetables when they're smaller, young and tender. If my grandma had been a lobster boat captain, I'm sure they same rules would apply.
