There's one in Bucksport or Rockland too. Um... it could be Camden.. I can't remember... I just know it's on route 1 on the south side of the road. There's another one in Belfast...there's one in Ellsworth... oh heck, check this out:

There is Taco Bell, but that doesn't count as Mexican in any state. If you like green chiles, you won't find any in Maine.
Odds are if you want Mexican food, you're going to have to make it yourself.

Here's a link to a review of the one you're thinking of in the log building --it is called "Mexican Restaurant" and it's located on Route 1 in the town of Hancock. Mexican Restaurant, Hancock, Me. - New England - Chowhound

We saw a new restaurant open in Bangor, Miguel's, and tried it. Alas a very mild selection of taco bell food.
I tried the salsa for example and was surprised that it had no cilantro or peppers in it. Tomato and onions with a hint of lemon. No peppers, no cilantro.
I asked if they had a selection of salsas, thinking perhaps they had the good ones at the bar. But no.

Sounds like you might have found a REAL Mexican restaurant, with cooks and/or staff from Mexico. They have different names for that kind of stuff down here. Salsa is actual sauce. What we would call salsa is known as chilli macho here. But beware of the Mexican version. It's usual 90% ground up jalapenos. And what you described, with tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and cilantro, is pico de gallo. A touch of Mexican lime isn't unusual. I add a little garlic to mine.(Insert face with flames shooting from mouth here.)

And if the hot sauces on the table aren't quite hot enough for you, just ask- they will be more than happy to bring you some of the stuff they use for themselves .
