Default When do you put up your Christmas tree?

No offense to those who do not celebrate Christmas...... Elcarim's post showing she had her tree up already (Dec 5) got me wondering. When do you put your tree up?
We usually put one up around the 15th to the 18th and take it down just before New Years Day.
When we were growing up our neighbor used to put up their tree Christmas Eve and by noon Christmas day it was out the back door!

I just took down all my fall stuff last night from the front porch.

I guess I'll get my wreaths up over the weekend or the first part of next week.

I don't do anything much inside anymore as I travel to spend the holiday with my daughter and her family. Just too much fluff to be bothered with. I have enough busy work getting ready to go to Florida after the holidays.

We usually put one up 1 week before Christmas.
I take it down before New Years- since New Year's Eve is our youngest daughter's birthday and we like to have the focus on her

Trees started going up the week before Thanksgiving here. When I was growing up, we always went my birthday weekend - 12/10 - and that was our tree decorating weekend. As the years go by, everyone has started decorating earlier and earlier. Now, the big thing here is to have the Christmas decor up for Thanksgiving dinner. I know it seems so out of whack! I'm happy to change that practice!!

The first weekend of December is good for me. We put our tree up last night, instead of waiting for this weekend, because we're having the girls' birthday party tomorrow, and I wanted the house to be decorated. They love their Christmas season birthdays.

I did some tipping, B made wreaths to send out to our relatives down South and out West.

The guy tipping on our land, came by this morning to present to us a wreath, as a gift for allowing him to tip here.

So that is our decorating.

Our updated nature basket - all the fall leaves fell out and the fir branches, rocks, pine cones and cinnamon replaced them! I wish we had trees to gather from in nature. We had to buy ours. Even bought a bag of pinecones.

87 more days.....

Growing up, we always put ours up the day after Thanksgiving. All of us were off (my parents worked in schools) for four days, so we had lots of time to find the perfect tree and put it up. So now my husband and I have continues that tradition. It's fun because then we really get into the spirit. Here in Nome, it has been even nice to have the tree up early. The lights make me happy.

Here's another question. Do you put the presents out as they get bought and wrapped or on Christmas Eve?

We put them all out as they're bought. It's a great deal of fun for the kids to come home from school and poke around under the tree to see if they have any new presents that showed up during the day. I already have about 8 gifts in the top of my closet waiting to be wrapped. I'll do that this afternoon. The next trick will be to keep the kitties from unwrapping them!
