It is from the Farm Journals complete pie cookbook from 1965, it is a basicly clam chowder in a pastry shell. I found the recipe when I was loking for a Tomato pie recipe for supper tonight.

I've still got to look through mine. I wonder if that was one of those old recipes that just fell by the wayside. What's tomato pie? I've never heard of that, but it sounds much better than clam pie!

It does, I agree.... especially if you were to use a phyllo crust. ( I KNOW I spelled that correctly even though it's underlined!)

Tomato pie is about 7 tomatos a deep dish pie crust some Italian herbs, chopped bacon and Italian cheese mixed with some mayo. So you skin your tomatos and slice them layer them in a prebaked pie shell( make sure to get the seeds out and dry them on a paper towel, the drier the better.) top with the mozarella, parm and mayo mix and bake. Have not done it yet but it is someething like that.

Why am I not surprised that I'm not the only one who saves tomato seeds? Does anybody have a recipe for making Cornish pasties?

I'm only familiar with one kind of pastie. Somehow, I think that's not what you mean!
