(ok, I had to post that you guys because I just told my 19 year old that there are Chex Mix Rules to be followed. and yes, I got caught picking out the cashews and had to come up with something. She is now googling "chex mix rules") Now, I didn't lie!
I like the homemade chex mix much better than the store bought stuff. We had some homemade stuff someone gave us as a Christmas gift. That stuff was gone in a heartbeat. I still have a partial bag of the store bought stuff from the same time....no one will eat it...not even the dog!

C'mon, you know me. The one who swears she could live without a kitchen? I'm not making that stuff although I remember my Mom making it every Christmas and putting it up in pretty tins and bows as gifts for all of our teachers. I remember them all looking forward to Mom's gifts.

I've just shipped a bunch of pretzels off to corgi, hope she likes them!

Default Music that makes me happy

I love classical, jazz and really good band music. But sometimes I surprise myself by being moved by something totally out of my realm of music taste. Some of these include:

YouTube - Deliverance - Dueling Banjos Scene HQ

and going along with that my very favorite band march
called French National Defile March - Mensaguy and I played it at every football game all the way through high school.

And I also love

YouTube - Earl Scruggs & Steve Martin - Foggy Mountain Breakdown (Best

Anyone else have a music genre that is outside their usual musical tastes?

Enjoy the music.

And, just because - my son's high school band - the podium is on the 50 yard line - he is standing on the track, between the stands and the field on the left on the 40. He has on light pants and a red shirt. Due to rules, he cannot move, direct, instruct or do anything but stand there while the judges in black coats can move around to judge. The assistant is on the 40 yard line wearing a yellow shirt.

Today I was feeling sorry for myself, down in the dumps. Then I remembered the City-Forum and Maine. It has been awhile since I had visited. I do not live in Maine nor have I ever lived there. However I love to read your posts. Though I would let you know you brightened my day. Thank you. Straw hat.

My tastes are mostly bluegrass and older country. None of this so-called country of today.

YouTube - The Del Mccoury Band, My Love Will Not Change

YouTube - Dolly Parton - Smokey mountain memories

YouTube - Doc Watson, Ricky Skaggs & Alison Krauss

With some rowdiness thrown in ...
