On the same topic for a second .......... ........... I had a couple Christmas cards sent to me as Main street,......... the post office hand corrected the address and delivered them. Sometimes you want to be where everybody knows your name ..........

At the rate some of us are going, everybody in the state will know who we are when we get there. In spite of there being a bunch of us moving to Maine this year, I think those of you who already live there are going to spot our vehicles the minute we roll into town. You'll probably know where we're going to live before we do. I hope so. To that end, I guess I should post some more recent pics on the profile page. The one that's there is two years old. Anybody recognize the city behind us? I've lived in small towns most of my life, but most of them have lost that small town mentality where, yep, the people at the post office know your address without looking it up and where everybody knows your name. Sounds like that precious commodity has not be shoved aside by progress in Maine. And I am sooooooooo looking forward to it because of the things that go with it. Like common courtesy. You have to be nice to each other--the town is so small that you have to get along or get out. Knowing where to find who or what when you need when you need it, or them. Finding time to sit down and have a cup of coffee with friends. Having neighbors who don't necessarily live next door.

Yup! I like that one! I spent the last 2 weeks just lettin' it grow out...DW says it looks awful (tends to be blond-ish, like me) so it's back to work in the mornin' and off comes the 2 weeks' growth!

DRAT! I was startin' to like looking' like a mountain man! Yeah!

You must do what your ruler says.

I stopped shaving when I retired.

Most of the time when I served on subs I wore a beard, but kept having to shave them off when stationed elsewhere.

Awww, she's beautiful, mollysmiles! Looks like she has a sweet personality.

Do you know what breed or mix of breeds she is? A friend is looking for a dog to adopt into their family, and I would like to give her a few more breed suggestions. Thank you!
