Sounds like my night. My 8 year old is sick. We were up with her every couple of hours, her coughing, hacking, and running a fever that kept spiking at 104.something. She's going to the doctor early afternoon, after I get back from my own follow up appt with my doctor. Then, Brad has an eye appointment just after that. Busy day!

BUT, I'm starting the morning sipping my home-made, Dunkin Donuts coffee. It's good!

LMAO! You'd have thought I'd asked the waitress to strip for sure when I asked somewhere in Washington state why there was ground beef in my "Chicken Fried STEAK"! She asked me what I *expected* to be there! Um........STEAK. That was my first lesson in life about regional cuisine. I honestly had no idea back then that people ate differently all over the country. I was sad.

Get about 4 a night, but I am out for the count for those 4 hours. I have to have two alarm clocks to make sure I wake up!

I have seen that too [the different cuisine in different areas].

Well 'steak' relates to beef, when they grind the beef you don't know which parts it came from. So ground beef could be steak.

So 'chicken fried steak' could have some portion of steak in it. It is usually the gravy that makes in good though.

There once was a waitress that I had occasion to meet. She was working the graveyard shift in a truckstop, during one of my meals she poured a creamer over my head.

Of course I was being a gentleman, it was not due to any behavior of mine.

[Coming in from patrols, our sleep-cycle and time-zone would be all wacky. So I took to driving my bike around touring the state until I got tired. And along the way, I would sometimes drive with other submariners who were likewise trying to re-adjust to the time-zone.]

So a few of us would pull into this truck stop, for a meal after the bars had all closed.

During another meal this same waitress tried to wring out a lemon in my ear.

Such a temper she had [has] such spark, such fire. Long red hair and a never ending pot of coffee.

You have got to be careful with waitresses.

It's not the waitresses you have to be wary of, forest, it's the red hair. It's God's way of giving you fair warning.
