stevemartin,
Why post the same link you posted earlier. From what I see, it's some citizen complaints and Mario Como's son who is looking to make a name for himself takes it upon himself to investigate. Make sure you post the link several times when UPC is found to be non-complicite in any wrong doings. Talk to 99% of folks in Mars Hill and UPC is the best thing that ever happened to the town. The 1% are those around the mountain who missed out on a windfall (parden the pun) who are expressing their sour grapes. It truly is difficult to find anyone in Mars Hill who is against the windfarm. I know there are some, but like I say, they are a small, small minority. Problem is they have an axe to grind so they keep the complaints alive. Those who have seen their taxes drop, there local roads improved, their schools have more money are sitting happily somewhere else other than a site where they can try to stir up discontent...and yes I bought a piece of property within a mile of the windfarm and love the view!

Some critics question whether the wind farms will produce adequate electricity or instead are being built to tap
into public subsidies and sell wind-energy credits on the open market to offset pollution from other industries.Plants in Canada never once shut down because of these Wind Farms. Besides The Power companies had to assure whatever power these units made for in turn return power to the grid when the windmills werent turning .So Im thinking its a waste .

All eight of them came to Lincoln to speak against a wind farm in Penobscot County.

We were up there on Wednesday...now they want to put SEVERAL in Fort Fairfield....also talking about Limestone. What a shame to ruin such beautiful agricultural land for power that doesn't benefit anyone in Maine.

Just wait until Horizon Wind (a division of a Portuguese or Spanish Company, I hear) begins putting 550 of these towers up west of Bridgewater!
Talk about a LOT of power. That 800MW farm could replace Maine Yankee almost all by itself, and again not a stitch of that cheap energy will go to help local ratepayers be able to get affordable electricity, although I hear some of our Aroostook Co. Maine State legislators are wizened up to that whole deal now...
