Is it windy? There's quite a bit of drifting here, and the wind is supposed to pick up again later. I don't mind the snow, but I could go without having to clear the same snow over and over!

My snow stick reads 30". I don't know how accurate that is, but the parking area seems pretty level. They are predicting terrific wind for the next day or so. The drifts are half way up the lower windows.

Hope we can get to our house by Monday! I saw a forecast that said later this week there will be even more.

Long term forecast is for at least two big storms over the next 10 days. Undetermined amount of snow/rain at this time, but what the hell does the weatherman know? A couple of days ago, they said 10".

I'm sure you can, I was by yesterday and it's very nicely plowed down there. What a pretty, pretty location that is. I can't wait for you to see it! It just looks like a storybook house along the river like that
I hope we get more snow and not rain! I don't like the winter rain

We rarely, rarely lose our power here.... other areas it seems every storm they lose it. We're more likely to lose power because someone hits a pole rather than a storm. I am trying to remember the last time we lost our power....

Mom's take....."Have you read that no-one in Maine has power???" Geez! I always say, "MY friends do!"
I'm now wondering about Genn being in Portland. I hope they're ok. She's had a house full of sick kiddos, so a power outage wouldn't be good right now.

I heard our three UPS units bleep a few times this morning -- they keep our computers running -- but they didn't stay sounding so we did not have to shut down. The fluctuations were minor enough that I didn't notice them any other way.

yes, it is windy, but don't worry... you won't be clearing THE SAME snow yet again... it will have gone on to vex your neighbor to the east... and you'll be shoveling some that might have started here at my house! (Glad to share... )
