I feel bad for you poor buggers. We only lost power a few times here and only for a bit. Not bad for a "backward" little island.

Still out east of Lincoln. With all the trees down they say it could be Sunday before we get it back. The house is warm and the generator is quiet. Life is good.

My son and his dad just landed in Caribou! First ride of the season. I hear their grooming in Madawaska! Nice! Can't wait for FEB!

I got up to add wood to the stove. The house was down to 63 degrees and the outside temp is 16 and dropping. There was a bed of coals and a couple of pieces of kindling made it take right off. This isn't like hot air heat where you adjust the thermostat up to 70 and it jumps to 70.

6 degrees and quiet as a church mouse outside. Unlike the trees you could hear yesterday falling from the ice that made them give in

There were still quite a few without power in communities around Levant last evening. The store where I work lost power for a brief bit, but we have battery backup for the registers and the pizza oven runs on gas, so we kept going. We did a very brisk business -- groceries, booze, take out food -- mostly to those out of power and with kids home from school and short on lunch provisions, I would guess. And the booze for the parents coping with kids home from school?

LOL
