GOOD!!!
I won't rest until the entire PBS operation is relegated to the trash heap, completely unfunded by the taxpayers and that entire crew thrown out on their keesters.
You will notice that they are not shutting down in Camden. The granola crunching, Volvo driving Climate Change Enviro-nazis need something to listen to whilst out yachting and sea kayaking.

On the contrary. I listen to MPBR quite often so I can see how my tax money is being squandered.

I think it's a shame, but realize there isn't a big enough audience in Washington County (or donations for that matter). We listen to 89.7 frequently, and my parents in Perry have it on the radio in their office 24/7. I imagine they'll just switch to CBC.
But the big bummer is missing channel 13. Sesame Street is the only show that our son loves to watch, and I imagine there are plenty of people in this part of Maine who can't afford cable, whose kids watch the shows on there. They say they'll stop broadcasting in January, which is when we move to the Ellsworth area, so we won't be missing out on it, but I am sure there are plenty of people here that will miss it!

I'm with you on that one!
I have to say I'm out of touch completely on this one... I heard it on the news, but I was doing a bunch of other things at the same time. Does it mean that areas won't get the broadcast at all, or is it only if those people have an antenna? How does that work?

We don't receive channel 13, it appears that for now they are still going to continue transmitting on channel 12, which is what we get.
I do not approve of them getting government funding either.

I agree, Sesame Street is awesome. Too bad you will lose that wonderful channel for your little one and soon to be new one.
