Areas in need of Psychologists?

Northern Maine is very Rural and we are starving for excellent Psychologist here. We have a large variety of Schools, Nursing Homes, ICF/MR homes, and private agencies requiring psychological evaluations per licensing and certification. I have been employed in healthcare for 10 years and Northern Maine has been struggling for quality Psychologist for some time. You probably won't get filthy rich with currency but you will be happy with your quality of life!

I professionally manage a 9 bed ICF/MR/Nursing Home and depending on the needs of our residents we could use a Psychologist annually for residents requiring such services. Most agencies like schools and Nursing homes are looking for behavioral intervention, programming ideas that promote self-determination and independence. We also look for deceleration of regression or losses involving functional status. Behavioral plans are in high demand in Northern Maine. What's nice about this rural area is that people from here are often still able to become offended! LOL!!! You can work with people who recognize when things are not right. We have a very ole school mentality and to help assist individuals in recognizing right from wrong continues to be crucial in today's society. We also have a school of Social Work in Presque Isle not to mention an abundance in private therapeutic homes for children with special needs. Try Calais and Machias as well. The tribal offices are often hiring and pay very we'll...there are
2 of them near Calais. There is a Childrens' project in Calais. I'm 100% sure there is need here. Lots of social issues. It's like walking into the Twilight Zone here.
