What kind of salmon run in Maine, Atlantic? I end up fishing King, Sockeye, and silver. Maybe when I get bored or want to smoke some fish I might try for Chum.

Atlantic run in the rivers - must be released! Endangered species.
In the lakes, you'll find land-locked Salmon.
I like your Salmon better! Yummmmm

There is a very small salmon run around here as compared to Washington State. Atlantic Salmon are tasty though you have to go tpo Canada to get keepers and then they will only let you keep smaller ones (schoolies) around 4-5 pounds. My FIL is an avid salmon fisherman and brings us a nice salmon or two every spring.

For those of us that can remember what Atlantic salmon taste like....I prefer them over Pacific. Less bony, just as tasty. You can still get sea run Atlantic salmon from Canada if you have a Native American connection.
