Default its time for ice fishing.

sunday we took the kids and the dog ice fishing.our first of many trips this year.the ice on the lake we were at is 8'' thick more then enough to fish.we played hocky while we wated for the fish to trip the trap.while we were playing we would keep an eye on our flags.when a flag went up every one would yell FLAG!!and hocky would stop while the kid the flag belonged to would go get their fish and rebait the hook and set the flag then play would resume.it was a good day didnt catch many fish but who cares we had a blast.cant tell you where we went but i will tell you it was near baxter.within 50 ml or so.just a cpl we cought.

Actually, I didn't enlarge the thumbnails so the details were a little faint.

The bows (and browns) we get in this area are either from open water in summer while salmon fishing, or river caught in spring and fall. They tend to run anywhere from 2-15 lbs.

Never done bows or browns through the ice........strictly walleye, pike and perch during the hard water season around here.

Not to rain on your trip, but I think that is over the limit, thus breaking the law. I believe it is 5 fish in aggregate per trip.

BTW - nice looking trout.

Ranger will be better able to respond to this, but I've heard it's a pretty shallow pond. We've never ice fished it. They use to stock it but I'm not sure if they still do.

I think if Ranger had all of his kids out on the ice playing hockey and each tending traps, they'd be well within their limit.

Yes, they're nice looking fish!
