So I was thinking... topless doesn't have to mean just women. Maine's full of men with great chests.

I don't know if this still holds true but in the 90's importing from out of state was common practice at both places in Maine. BTW I didn't frequent them but knew both the owners.[/quote]
I've mentioned several times before that I've been to a few with my husband and have no problem with it. In my opinion, it's a matter of ones own level of comfortability and self confidence.

Why not just get the town to really be proactive about bringing in helpful businesses that don't divide the population in such an unnecessary way? Yeah, the economy sucks - but why trash a town with crud like that? Where's their morals? Ick.

Crud? Hmmmm.... not sure if that defines crud in my opinion. I'm pretty sure if there were other business's willing to move to a small town like Vassalboro, they'd love for them to come in. Unfortunately, that isn't the case here.

Or are they just opportunists who don't care how they make a buck, or who suffers for their gain?

Who exactly suffers here? Opportunists???? Oh dear.... I'm seeing a lot of very closed minds in here today. Just my opinion.

Of course they will! It will be a novelty at first, then they'll close up shop after the newness wears off. Tourist familys traveling through to the coast aren't going to pull over for coffee, donuts and boobs.

Smartest thing said on here about this topic. Nobody has to go to this establishment.
There's no need to turn this into a local political shout match. Let the business open. If enough customers patronize the place, it will succeed; if not, it will close. People who do not want such a place should probably avoid giving away free publicity by talking about it and hope it goes away quickly.
A good rule to live by: People who take their clothes off in public are people you probably don't want to see naked anyway.

When the new coffee shop opens I'll be posting my mailing address. Patrons should be sending me tips as a thank you for not working there. Paypal will be accepted.

I am wondering just how many who seem opposed and upset by this have been to Vassalboro? LOL
Its a topless drive thru. Not like its going to be a "hands on" experience for anyone.
I do not see the harm in it. Would I stop my hubby from going. Heck no, he is an adult and I trust him.
Most will go out of curiosity. I can think of worse things to have in a town.
