Yess I enjoy it's sentimental feel and can relate it to times in my life growing up here.

Yeeess. Maybe that's the part I don't like...it hits too close to home for me. As long as no one confuses me with Tom Posten. And Tom Bosley sre didn't get his accent from "The Humble Farm-ah"

When I first read this thread I thought of this:

YouTube - Nickel Creek - Lighthouse's Tale

Anyone see anything familiar?

Yes! I remember the first time I saw it on CMT a few years back--I had only caught the end of it, and then I had to wait and wait to see it again to make sure. Ohhhh, the days before TIVO! I can't say the song really reminds me of Downeast, though! My thoughts on that are with Austin B and "The Reach" and there's also a George Winston piece too called "Thanksgiving" that does.

This is a video that someone put together with their honeymoon pictures to "The Reach"....

YouTube - Dan Fogelberg - The Reach

And here is George Winston's Thanksgiving...

YouTube - Thanksgiving (complete)

JollyFatGuy is on a distinguished road
You mean that dingy real-estate lady doesn't live there? that pops my bubble!
the originial question was what song reminds people of Maine - since I didn't grow up in Maine and don't have childhood or love memories related to songs - MY only memory of music with Maine is the Murder She Wrote intro - doesn't mean I think those people live there or are real - it's cool, someday over coffee we'll all laugh at the dingy statement I made
