looking for rent prices
Thank everyone for your help so far. What I am really trying to find out is, what towns have 2/3 bedroom with a yard dog friendly, that rent for 400 to 700, or have houses for sale between 20k and 75k. Long shot I know but I have to ask. Thank you

For the rents, go inland and maybe east. Good luck on the houses in that price range.

You MAY be able to find those rents near auburn or Augusta but no way near Portland. It's going to be tough. Good luck buying something nice for under 100k... Not in the Northeast, it's just not possible.

Check Craigslist they have quite a bit on there. I know of friends that found their apartment there and we looked at some that were listed on there as well.

There are many listings under $100K in the northern parts of Maine. It will depend on the area you need/want to be in. We're renting a very large house on a nice property on the river for about 1/2 what we've been paying for our house in Texas. I've been surprised at how low the rental rates are in Maine. Just be diligent in your search, and you'll find what you're looking for.

You can easily find properties like that in the northern part of the state. I did work on a house in Ashland that was just selling for $15,000. It needed a little bit of work, but nothing major. Are you looking for a house that you can fix up or a house to just move into right now?

hi, are you a rehabber? You said you worked on a house in Ashland that was priced at 15K. We have some leads for rehab jobs, we wanted to either pay for the work and sell by ourselves, or just wholesale it to a fellow investor. problem is, we are new to Maine, all our contacts are out of state.

I thought the rent upstate was bit high, and we had a hard time finding a house that would allow pets.
