Off we go...
...to Maine! We're leaving in a little while for our long-awaited Maine trip. Travelling should be interesting (yay, snow!). As of right now, there is no flight delay, but I'm sure that'll change once we arrive at the airport. Anyway, can't wait to get there! Maine, here we come!

Yeeha! Hope your trip goes better than ours. The days in Maine were WONDERFUL! But the flights were hell! We started with a three hour weather delay, a cancellation of the flight into Bangor, got to Detroit and the OTHER flight we had switched to for Bangor was cancelled just before boarding, they lost our luggage, so we were in Detroit overnight with NOTHING! Next day, still no luggage, sat on the tarmac getting de-iced (how reassuring!) flew into Logan Field, and was so tired that I didn't care that the plane to Bangor was a puddle jumper that looked like it was a leftover from WWII. And when we got to Bangor, still no luggage. We left Texas on Wednesday and the luggage caught up on Saturday.
But let me think--lost luggage and delays or going down in a blaze of frozen glory? Just remember. Knashing your teeth will only get you an ulcer. Laughing at it all will, well, at least give you a good laugh for the day. The important part is getting there SAFE!

We're here in Belfast! (We were really surprised that there were no flight delays. We actually arrived a few minutes ahead of time!!) What a winter wonderland! It's absolutely beautiful! Snow is sticking to every branch on every tree. I can't wait to take some great pictures tomorrow. Even the drive from Portland to Belfast wasn't bad. The only stretch of road that was somewhat icky was the last stretch of Rt. 3 going into Belfast. The turnpike was plowed very well. We checked out downtown Belfast, which we loved! Tomorrow we'll probably walk around downtown and check out some of the shops. On Wednesday we're off to Bangor for the day.
I'll check in again when I get a chance. We don't have a laptop, but the motel has a computer in the lobby for guests to use.
Thanks for all the well-wishes! You guys are great!
