Question Relocating to Maine

Hi,
I am planning to relocate from Chicago to Maine in June. We would like to buy a house before the next school year starts. Our main criteria is school as we have a daughter who will be starting high school in the year 2010. Can someone point out good schools in a 30-40 minutes range from Kennebunk. Thank you.

Look no further than Kennebunk. The school system in Kennebunk is very good. Scarborough and Cape Elizabeth to the North are good as are Falmouth, Cumberland and Yarmouth. Yarmouth and Cumberland are going to exceed the limits of your requested commute time and Falmouth will be pushing it (you'd have to hustle to make it in 40), but Scarborough is close enough to make it in that timeframe. I would say Kennebunk is your best bet.

Irfox is most often "right on"....I believe the high school kids in Saco are tuitioned by the town to Thornton Academy, a historic private school....http://www.thornton.saco.org/Default.asp?bhcp=1 ..I dont know anything about the school other than the campus is really nice and has a collegiate atmosphere about it. If I had a high school aged child.....I would look into it...but then I really like Saco.

I don't know how I left it out! Thornton Academy ("TA") is a pretty good school. You'll love the campus. Absolutely look into it.

Thank you. Someone mentioned that York schools are good as well. What do you think? Thanks.
