Just stop and think; Have you ever gone into the ballot booth under the threat that if you didn't vote the way Commissar Gendron wanted that you would be fined? It happened in Maine.

Those of us who voted against it soley on the blatent unconstitutionality of the whole process are a little more than disgusted at the fact that the fines the towns who voted it down pay, will be our "good boys and girls" money. Yes, towns that voted to consolidate will reap some of the monetary reward of those who have to pay fines. It passed in my town, but just barely. Many of us were hoping that more people with backbones would have voted against it. Unfortunately, the well-oiled "fear of the unknown" machine won out. I can no longer speak of it without wretching, so I'm done.
